IFSF started its operations in a rented facility which was later purchased in 1991. It was soon realized that the growing needs and rapid expansion of the community would not be able to be accommodated in the 9500 sq.ft facility. A prime piece of 11.5 acres land close to the present facility became available and was purchased in 1999. The plans were developed for full campus of buildings including full time school, Masjid for over 1000 people, an auditorium, commercial building, over 200 parking spaces, outside play grounds, basketball courts and picnic area. The vision of IFSF is to continue enhancing our services for the educational, religious, and social needs of the whole Muslim community. Currently, the IFSF operates a masjid and full-time school, including Friday-evening only school for kids, weekend school, and adult education. Two full-sized soccer fields (with goals and lines) as well as volleyball court are on site. Childrens playground is located directly behind prayer hall. Activities include full-time school related and community events.

Masjid Al-Hijrah
Reviews: 0
In the early 1990s a group of brothers and sisterswho had recently migrated from the Caribbean, formed themselves into a Jammat to maintain the customs and practices they were used to back at home. They had a dream of a community conducting Islamic activities, prayer in congregation, Islamic classes, functions and other family events. This also included reaching out and extending hospitality and acceptance to all. Initially this group met at members residences, then moved to a shed, next to a rental property and eventually they were blessed with the purchase of the current facility. The membership grew leading to the incorporation of the organization in January 1992 under the name of the Caribbean American Islamic Association Inc. (C.A.I.A.). The current facility d.b.a Masjid Al-Hijrah was purchased on January 10th 2000.

Masjid Miami Gardens, completed in 1997, is located on the border between Broward and Miami-Dade Counties and serves Muslims living in these two areas. The mosque is 2,500 square feet and the land owned by this community is 10,000 square feet. It is the largest mosque in South Florida and prides itself on accommodating ethnically and theologically diverse Muslims. A large green carpet with many yellow lines (saf) covers the mosque?s floor. The places during prayer for Muslim men and women are separated with a fabric curtain. Both Muslim men and women have their own door entry and their own place for wudhu (ablutions). Beside the mosque is a house for mosque keepers and an office. In front of the mosque is a huge parking lot and a basketball court. This mosque, with Masjid Miami, is organized by a committee called the Muslim Association of South Florida and is associated with the ISNA (Islamic Society of North America). This committee consists of a chair, general secretary, and financial secretary, and organizes everything related to the two mosques. The committee, whose membership is open to every Muslim, changes every two years.
