Al-Furqan Islamic Dawah Association
Reviews: 0
Al-Furqan Islamic Da’wah Association has been established in the year 2008 with the blessing of Allah Azawajalin a small place to conduct all our activities according to the Quran and Sunnah. However, the lack of space has always been a drawback in all our activities. Alhamdulillah we found a place in Leicester (127 Loughborough Road) which will fulfil our requirements of conducting all our activities including daily prayers, Jummah prayers for brothers and sisters and teach the Arabic Language to non Arabicspeakers. Ultimately our aim is to create an Islamic atmosphere to preserve the Muslims in this country, especially the younger generation. The Al-Furqan Islamic Da’wah Association is recognised by the British Charity Commission and registered under the Registration Number 1138704. The Association is also licenced by Leicester City Council.

The Dawoodi Bohras are a Muslim community of about one million. The seat of the community is in Mumbai, India. Although the majority of Dawoodi Bohras are concentrated in India and Pakistan, a sizeable number are domiciled in Africa, Yemen, North America and in the European and Gulf countries. In the United Kingdom, there are approximately five thousand members. About half of these reside in Greater London, with the rest split over Leicester, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham and Bradford. Belonging to the Shia Fatimi Tayyibi branch of Islam, Dawoodi Bohras believe in the leadership of the descendants of Prophet Mohammed (imams) who once ruled over the Islamic world in the 10th to 12th centuries.
