Masjid al Farooq
Reviews: 0
Alfarooq Islamic Center is located on Kentucky Street in the historic old-downtown neighborhood of Bakersfield, California. Therefore, it has affectionately been referred to as the Kentucky Masjid for many years even though the official name is Alfarooq Islamic Center. The building itself was originally constructed as a bank in what is believed to have been the late 1940s or early 1950s. The building was purchased by the Bakersfield Muslim Community and converted into a mosque in the mid-1990s. Alfarooq Islamic Center is currently working on plans to completely remodel and expand the facility.

Islamic Center of San Joaquin Valley

The Islamic Center of San Joaquin Valley is located on Ming Avenue in Bakersfield, California, directly across from the Bakersfield fairgrounds. Due to its location on Ming Avenue, it is affectionately referred to as the Ming Masjid even though the official name is the Islamic Center of San Joaquin Valley. The Islamic Center of San Joaquin Valley just completed an outstanding multi-year project in which a brand new facility was constructed from the ground up. The grand opening was held in July 2009. The new facility was designed and built to provide a variety of services to the growing Muslim population in Bakersfield and includes, in addition to the main prayer hall, multiple classrooms, administrative offices, and a multi-purpose room. Jummah khutbah starts at 1 pm.
