Located in a working class neighborhood close to the French Quarter, the Islamic Center of New Orleans serves the Muslim community of the center city area. Prayer services are held on a regular schedule in the spacious, upstairs prayer hall. The lower level has community rooms and space to host guests who are visiting the mosque. The dining area used to be connected to a small grocery store towards the back of the lower level. The grocery closed in the spring of 2005.

Located a block and a half from the Anthropology annex, Masjid ar-Rahman serves as a convenient place of prayer for many students at Tulane University. Most participants walk over to the mosque from Tulane University where many are graduate students or teaching staff. The mosque is located near a bus route which allows easy access from other parts of the city. Multicultural with most worshippers coming from the Middle eastern and Asian countries.

Masjid Ur-Raheem was founded in 1988 in a working-class section of New Orleans. The mosque runs the Sister Clara Muhammad school at a property adjacent to the mosque. In the same building is Raheems Success Center.

The Islamic Message Foundation is a cultural center for Shia Muslims in the greater New Orleans area. It is not exclusively a mosque but it does serve as a place for prayer on special occasions. The center has recently moved from the General de Gaulle and Florence Drive location. Community is largely Arab and Indian/Pakistani.

This Masjid is run by the Jefferson Muslim Association. Named after the senior companion of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), Abu Bakr was a trusted advisor and close friend to him. Multi purpose hall used for Jummah and events. Regular prayers not offered here.

A purpose-built mosque located on the busy intersection of W. Esplanade and Power Blvd in Metairie, a suburb in the greater New Orleans area. Masjid Abu-Bakr Al-Siddiq was founded in 1988. Men enter the lower-level door to enter the main hall, where a star-shaped skylight sits in the center dome above. Women pray on a second floor balcony overlooking the mens prayer area. The congregation consists primarily of first- and second-generation Americans from Pakistan, India and a number of Middle Eastern countries.
