Stockton Central Mosque

Also known as Jamia Mosque Farooq e Azam, the Stockton Central Mosque was converted in 1970 from 2 properties, 39-41 Hartington Road, Stockton On Tees. Although the conversion of the two properties was regarded as the best solution at the time, the increase in number of Muslims in the vicinity from generations who attend the mosque has initiated a cause for the mosque committee to re consider the means of meeting existing and future needs to accommodate the growing numbers during congregation at the mosque.

Madina Masjid is Newcastles first purpose built mosque and is around 5 years old. Located in Fenham, it is a two story building which incorporates two prayer halls, a wudhu area, classrooms, an office, a kitchen and a dining area. Regular talks are held in the mosque, in addition to the daily prayers and jummah. The mosque has also recently installed a radio transmitter so that people with a receiver in their house can hear the adhaan and salaah from the mosque 5 times a day, as well as the weekly jummah khutbah.

Newcastle Central Mosque

Newcastle Central Masjid was established in 1968 in an old church building. During 1986 a community centre hall was built next to the building in an open land area. In 1988, our mosque was set on fire in a racially motivated arson attack and the building was totally destroyed. Mosque was shifted to the new community centre building. A new mosque was planned to be built in the old place and in 2004, we initiated this new project. Alhamdulillah external work is now completed and Newcastle Central (Bilal) Masjid stands proudly inviting passers by to marvel at the building. Its Green Dome and Minarat is an addition to the skyline of the city, which is visible from 5 to 6 miles when approaching Newcastle city from A1 motorway. Imagine the new mosque to be completed very soon InshAllah providing services of the local community for the pleasure of Allah (SWT). Newcastle Central Mosque will invite the community to enjoy facilities provided in a safe and comfortable environment. In a city, where Muslim community has grown steadily over the last decade, basic facilities were not available. InshAllah this Masjid will go a long way toward alleviating this requirement.
