The Institute’s masjid, which is relatively small given the overall size of the institution is open for daily prayers. The facility also includes an extensive library, classrooms, an industrial kitchen, and a newly added Islamic funeral prep facility.

Men & Women have a separate class on Sunday about Quran tafseer and tarjima, arabic grammar and hadith with translation. Imam Mohammad Ali Elahi established the Islamic House of Wisdom in 1995. In 1996, the congregation was moved from its original Schaefer location to a larger mosque on Ann Arbor Trail in order to accommodate the growing membership. This new building originally housed two Christian organizations, the Fairlane Assembly Church and Detroit World Outreach. The mosque is devoted to its outreach and community service programs, and holds several community and interfaith events.
